Glory is from Tess's first litter. She was a pistol from the get-go. At 12 days
of age, before she could even see or hear, she was in her mother's food dish, lapping
up yogurt. She was the first to escape from the whelping box, and has been trouble
ever since. She is already a seasoned thief and has been known to steal socks, soap,
remote controls, cell phones, and even canned goods from the cupboards. She is full
of life and spunk, and keeps her brother, Strider, in line.
Glory is 4 months old in the photo above. Like Caillou, Glory made her show ring
debut at the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America's National Specialty in June
of 2002. At not quite 7 months of age, Glory wagged her way through the 6-9 puppy
bitch class, earning herself a 4th place out of 15 bitches. Since returning home,
she has displayed a passion for retrieving. Her tail never stops, and her face shows
a perpetual grin. She loves life and everyone and everything in it, taking on new
adventures in classic Flatcoat style.
More recently, Glory competed in Calgary at the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of
Canada's National Specialty and the accompanying all-breed shows. She is continuing
her winning ways, with a 3rd place in the 6-9 puppy bitch Sweepstakes class, and a
3 consecutive 1st place wins the following 3 days. This young girl has a very
bright future, indeed!
Back in the United States, Glory picked up her first AKC points in style on August
25, defeating 11 other bitches for a 5-point major from the Bred-By class. She beat
all of the class boys, too, by going Best of Winners, all at the tender age of 9
months and 9 days!
Sadly, Glory's show career ends here. To read about what happened, click here.
Glory is now living in a new home. She gets to go to work with her people
every day and she loves being the center of attention.
